Gregory Keith Gentry, Sr.

Gregory Keith Gentry, Sr., 63, of Scottsville, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

Born on November 9, 1962, in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Granville Leford Gentry, Jr. and Elsie (Bibb) Gentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Nevaeh.

Greg worked as a Surveyor and Project Manager for C.W. Hurt Contractors. He was a devoted fan of UVA Athletics and NASCAR and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan H. Gentry of Scottsville; two sons, Gregory Gentry, Jr. of Greene County and Evan Gentry of Charlottesville; one daughter, Ashley Gentry of Scottsville; nine grandchildren; one sister, Sharon Robinson of Charlottesville; one brother, David Gentry of Charlottesville; and one stepdaughter, Lena Howell of Scottsville.

A gathering to celebrate Greg’s life will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
