Charles Melvin Adcock, Sr., 89, of Scottsville, died on Friday, February 13, 2026, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on November 1, 1936, in Buckingham County, a son of the late Paul Alexander and Mabel Venetta (Graves) Adcock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Franklin Adcock; a sister, Betty Maxey; a daughter-in-law, Naomi Adcock; and a special cousin Geroge Richardson.
For 36 years, Charlie worked for VDOT and retired as a Foreman. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Esmont. He loved spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing, and was known to be very faithful in the care of his brother-in-law, David.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice (Ward) Adcock “Tillie,” a son, Charles Melvin Adcock, Jr., two daughters, Joyce Jarratt and Connie Knight (Keith), all of Scottsville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a special brother-in-law Roger Ward (Judy); and a host of extended family.
A funeral service will conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February, 18, 2026, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home by Pastor Laura Stratton. Burial will follow in Scottsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
